                | Left Eide, at the north end of the
Faroes yesterday afternoon in good breeze but straight out into a bumpy
sea.  There are overfalls from the tide all round the Faroes.
I was not seasick but did not eat anything until
midnight, when dried cod followed by a two person instant chicken curry
seemed a good idea.  Does the boat smell of curry or fish? I woke at 7 - for about the 10th time - even my
alarm clock gave up and the hands fell off again.  There are no rocks
or ships out here so why keep looking round?  The sails were flapping
from the waves in a calm.  We are now motoring gently on. Although the Faroes are 75 miles away they still
seem distinctly visible,  they are disapearing now with the sun behind
them.  If it is not the mountains themselves they do creat very mountain
shaped clouds above them.  Iceland is 180 miles off and the clouds in that
direction just look like clouds. I could send more cliff pictures but still no
puffins.  Only fulmars out here, now where are the fish
hooks? |
