Winds have been lighter than forecast since our last blog so progress to Lanzarote a bit slower than hoped with quite rolly seas but at last the temperature is starting to rise and we are all glad to be in t shirts and shorts - during the day at least .
A beautiful sunrise this morning as shown in photo and we’ve had two visits by dolphins yesterday and again today . We had c. 50 of them playing around us this morning.
Much of the time is spent watching and dodging shipping although the ships are gradually becoming less frequent as we travel south, which in turn allows more time for fishing - or at least trolling some lines astern !
We have concluded that the UFO we spotted during the previous night - a red & green flashing object moving quickly around the boat during the darkness about 10m away and 3 m above the water - was a naval drone as yesterday and today there has been 2 large black and fast navy type ribs tracking north and south. Each rib has 3-4 fully suited and booted crew on board - either that or they’re very well dressed pirates !
