Magic Pelagic and crew have picked up the pace a little over night last night in feisty conditions and expect to arrive late on Saturday evening as opposed to the lately expected Sunday morning. Liverpool fans (Mark, Tony & Paul) have had to reconcile with the fact that the Liverpool game will be missed on Saturday due to our late arrival and as our data package wont run to a potted commentary let alone viewing of a full game.
Yesterday was the second full day in which no dolphins or wildlife or boat/shipping traffic was sighted save for what we think was a Brown Booby seabird that stayed with us most of the day and enjoyed the lift from the sails as we trundled along.
We made several attempts to identify the bird but as non of us have seen a booby for some time we couldn’t quite be certain.
Had a lovely Pork Medallion dinner produced by Dave last night, a truly heroic effort in quite a volatile sea. The sunrise shift enjoyed a lovey show this morning, reminding us all how lucky we are to be out here.
As I write I can hear talk of flying fish and such like from the cockpit and suspect the fishing lines will soon be out again, despite Martin’s pledge to give it up completely. We have of course told him that he can’t give something up that he has never done.
We are all flagging a bit as now aged crew so looking forward to a couple of nights of relative stillness on board to rest our weary bones (not to mention a couple of well-earned cold ones).
