We left Marbella on the very calm but chilly morning of 28thOctober. Concerned about possible interactions with Orca’swe had prepared the pingers and had them ready in the cockpit to deploy.
Thankfully and rather sadly there wasn’t much in the way of wildlife for the whole of the 8 hour journey save for gannets and the odd imaginary fin or two.
There was more than enough wind but not in the direction thatwe needed to sail until a change in wind direction later in the day when we sailed for nearly two hours.
We arrived at Gibraltar safely but slowed to 2 knots through the East anchorage and rounding the Europa Point lighthouse and berthed in Alcaidesa Marina by 17:30 to begin preparation for the leg to Lanzarote. |
