The wind did fill in from the ENE late yesterday afternoon and we made good progress southward all night. It's dropped a bit now and we have started to roll - which doesn't matter- and the sails to slat back and forth - which does - so we'll have to alter course and/or pole out the jib.
Our course has taken us well offshore to keep us in deep water off the continental shelf so there should not be inshore fishing boats, but nonetheless we saw fish jumping around the boat about half an hour before sunset last night and put out an 'octopus skirt' on the hand-line. Within about 20 seconds we'd hooked a nice Albacore of around 25cm length which James filleted. We intend to have it for a late lunch.
The odd tanker to avoid but otherwise an uneventful night.
