Once the wind had dropped ot an average of around 30 knots we stuck our
noses out again heading south for Rorvik. Once again we had close channels
to navigate however the land either side of the channel rose to around 300
feet in places. Soaring above the rocky heights were sea eagles - down one sound we counted
10 - a flock of eagles! - just playing and weaving among the thermal updrafts.
Approaching north of Rorvik the lovely sunny weather gave way to rain and
squalls and we are also meeting more shipping now that we are further south.
One ship played a game of chicken with us coming through a narrow
channel so at one point we wondered if it would be a case of scraping his
paint off or scraping the barnacles from under Awelina on the side of the
cliff.

We followed a large container ship through the maze of north easterly
channels and round into a bay before a giant road bridge. 3 very excited
fishermen in a small boat gesticulated madly at us - then they held up a
HUGE halibut - clearly they had caught just then so we jumped about in
appreciation of their angling skills. We chose the small boat harbour for
the night having an interesting parking experience fitting Awelina (42
feet of her ) into a space about 43 feet long between two other yachts...
Yes there was a moment of doubt!

Rorvik revealed a huge supermarket, a video and sweet shop, a museum and
a very shut bar. We needed grib files from the internet to make our passage
plan for crossing the north sea so headed back to Awelina for an early night
(for us) to hit the net cafe tomorrow morning. Next post will have some
pictures in it but will probably not be posted for a couple of days.
