ANAHI - REBAK MARINA MARCH 2009 - AND A QUICK BREAK......

Saturday 14th March – Position – flying Air Asia
somewhere over the We got pretty sidetracked from our original job list. Once the decks
were finished and the mat and boom re-spray was completed we tackled the filthy
rusty deck lockers: clearing them out, cleaning them and their contents, spray
painting the insides with a more durable two pack paint (rather than the
Damboline we used last time) before replacing all the perished rubber seals on
the lids. All the rigging has been reunited with the mast and boom, the
repaired mainsail collected, the chaffed mainsheet re-spliced, the dorade vents
spruced up, the anchor windlass overhauled and the decking above and below it
reinforced. All these jobs are standard self imposed general maintenance so
we’re glad they’re done. A short break will be welcome to charge
up our batteries! Interspersed with the ‘hard labour’ we have met up with the
Zippies who sailed down to Telaga from Great to have wheels…. A good bye to the flowers Candle lit valentine dinner….. One last hit on the golf range……. Anahi, so proud and capable at sea is all wrapped up like a sausage in
a blue tarpaulin – smarter but benign – in repose, resting and ready
for her next adventure……….. |
