BLUE WATER RALLY - PACIFIC CROSSING DAY 3

4.45S 94.36W Day 3 - Sunday March 9th As you can see we are
still heading South – apparently the trades kick in around 6 degrees
although we are getting pretty steady winds already from the SSE. We sailed
all day today at an average of 6 knots which is great – the sun shone and
no rain! Another very black night but lit up with stars. Everyone feels a bit
under the weather though – maybe we picked up a bug? The light bulb trick to get the washing machine going worked a treat –
one fridge is back on line and we have reinsulated the door and lid to make it
more efficient – and that is about the sum of our industry today! One amusing thing – I was in the kitchen this morning and decided
to switch on the generator quickly to make a sneaky piece of toast (the boys
prefer bread) but unbeknown to me Paul was on the aft deck throwing out our new
tow generator propeller to gain more amps. He came rushing in ‘you
cannot believe how brilliant the new propeller is……………’
and then he noticed I had the genny on!! |
