The bus was loaned by a church for our use, but dave said he wasnt sure what the pastor would say if he found out that dave had taken us to a licquor store by popular request!!!
We also went to the museum which was very interesting! Although we were not allowed to take photographs.
This beautiful Plumeria was growing in the front of the museum and is called bridal bouquet. The museum staff kindly let me take a cutting!! So I was very happy, I just hope it grows??
Next door were some more graves. Dave told us that only 20 years ago the life expectancy was just 30 years because the water the islanders drank was from wells which would naturally contain much salt from the seawater - now they have fresh water and the life expectancy is hugely higher. Makes you think doesnt it? Salt is not good for us - this underlines it!!
Off we went again to the worlds largest blue hole!! Just look at the scenery en route!
The blue hole is the deepest in the world and many attempts at the record for free diving have been made here. Whilst we were there a guy went down 103 metres and was gone for over 4 minutes while his wife watched. I just couldnt see the point personally, but the sight of the blue hole was amazing.
The platform in the middle is the support for the free diver who had gone down when some of these pictures were taken.
We climbed to an overhang over the blue hole to get a better look!!
Spectacular!!!!
