We arrived in Albufeira on the Algarve this morning
(N 37.04.9 W 08.15.52) at 0700. We have done 1000 NM exactly to our
berth from Dartmouth in 7 days and 10 hours (less 8 hours each in Ushant and
Baionna) - that's an average of nearly 6.6kt.
Its been an interesting trip with the loss of 2
fishing lures, whales sighted and generally good weather. Amazingly not a lot
broke although we discovered the black water tank was full and leaking and the
guages do not work! We alsodiscovered that low fuelin a rolly sea is not good as
the engines ingest air! We did 110 hrs motoring to get here but that is
the price of good weather - you can't have good wind and good weather!
Julie is off to Carly's hen night tomorrow so yours truly will have a night to
fix up the boat!
We are off for a shower now and then we will find a
cafe and have some breakfast - more later.
