Getting on the bus:-
There were 28 of us and the dog came too!!!
This is the driver Dave and his sir name is Harding!! A good old English name !!
We had to behave though because the rules were clear!!
Some of the views from the bus:-
We stopped at this little church which was from the 15th century. I was very taken by this church and despite its clearly abandoned and ruined state, I could feel Gods presence. It was originally catholic and then became Anglican. There are many many churches around the island and theyre from many denominations, but catholic and anglican seem to be the leaders,
The confessional was still at the side of the altar
The view from the other side of the confessional
When I was looking around I noticed something behind the altar that i felt compelled to deal with - can you spot it???
Outside there were some recent graves from the 1950's. It appears to be 2 grownups and one child. They also seem to encase their graves in concrete wherever we noticed graveyards.
and one from the 1800's
I said goodbye to this little church, but I had such an urge to bring it back to its former glory. It seemed such a shame as from what was left, it had obviously had some splendour in its time. However, splendour is not needed for God's presence and even in the ruins - he was there!!
