                | Well,  we're finally on our way and have got a
little over 1/2 way from Dartmouth to Ushant (N 49.14.00 W
4.24.00) overnight. In fact, we left on Tuesday but when we got to
Start Point on the south coast of England, the sea was really rough so since we
had no schedule we went back for another night in Dartmouth. On Wednesday afternoon we left again but turned
back even sooner since the only forecaster that seemed to have got it right was
the navy man at Culdrose - we didn't believe him since all the other forecasts
were different!   Anyway after a few cups of tea and hanging around
at the Royal Dart Yacht Club (who were very accommodating) we set off at about
9:30 pm. It was a bit rough and we made slow progress aganst
the tide for the first few hours but gradually things improved - so much so that
we are now motoring since there is virtually no wind! Just about to download another forecast so we'll
see what is to come! J n J n Graeme (a fine crewman from
Yorkshire) |
