As the nice american lady who sold me my new solar shower said: 'watch out - it'll burn your heiney' Sounds painful. I'm not sure what one of them is, but it certainly does the trick after a day's getting salty and sun-dried.

anyway, showers aside, onto St. Kitts, which though twinned with Nevis I found delightful. Who knows? maybe I'm getting used to sailing solo. One windy night at anchor in the south of the island, far from the madding town lights and pumping reggae bars, then two nights in the cheapest marina so far. sorted. more (real) showers, water tanks full, clothes washing done, new friends on a big yacht made (roast lamb! wow!) (hangover! ow!).

also, caught a fish on the way over from Nevis, making my grand-master-of-the-seas total of 3 fish this year. After some lengthy perusal of the on board guides, it was identified as a 'yellow jack', which turns out to be about the most risky fish to eat due to ciguatera poisoning. but that didn't stop me, oh no - it just made me curry it and add extra spice to vaguely kill the toxins (?), thus destroying the taste and not relieving my paranoic body's twitches, itches and rumblings. I'll be damned if i don't eat free food! (it was fine, actually)
