Ahoy there,

Just a quick one today, but for a different reason than normal. Although power continues to be an issue and the sea continues in its seemingly eternal endeavour to drive us mad by constant rolling, the sun is shining and there are only a few clouds in the sky. It must be about 30 degrees and we're racing along at about 6 knots. All is well with the world apart from a couple of exceptions, more about which in due course. The squalls we heard so much about in pre-departure briefings have thus far, mercifully, been relatively brief and managable by taking the tiller in hand for a while, whilst getting drenched by torrential rain - quite good fun if it doesn't last too long.

The only clouds on our horizon at the moment, are twofold: firstly, we have still not encountered a whale (not a probelm in my book, as I think such a meeting would be terrifying, yet the skipper seems most disappointed by leviathon lethargy) and secondly, it seems we may have to admit that we are not, after our first successes the brilliant sea anglers we seemed to be. After literally four days fishing we have caught nothing more than the sun and are fairly disappointed at the fact, especially when other boats seem to have been catching monsters and fairly regularly - I think maybe we're going too fast. I could really do with a fresh tuna steak...

Anyway, I eill stop dreaming of food as this is rather a dangerous subject to get into. I have already dedicated a double-sided spread in my journal, one being food I can expect and will overindulge in in the Caribbean and one being all the food I will do my best to eat within the first three days of my return to Britain. All I can say of the latter is that it's going to be difficult.

Must go now as I have lunch waiting (a salami and cheese baguette, since you ask (no, none of this has been refrigerated, but we feel that ingesting germs and bacteria can only make one stronger)) and fancy some more sunbathing. Bye for now then.

Lots of love
