We arrived in Whangarei, New Zealand in early October and spent a frantic
few days organising boat work before Beth flew home to work, Hah hah. The
trip across the Pacific was much more fun than we had expected. The
Galapagos, French polynesia, Raratonga, Niue and Tonga were all beautiful
places to visit with great diving. We enjoyed having other boats around, a
great novelty for us as we've always been passing boats heading the wrong
way. The sailing was quite exciting with some accelerated Trade winds
giving good conditions. It even reached interesting on a few occassions
most noteably onpassage to Niue from Rarotonga. It was lovely being back
in New Zealand. It is such a lovely country. The Pacific North West ,where
we have spent the last 2 years was magnificent with extraordinarily
dramatic scenery and wildlife but the sailing was disappointing, we
motored too much. Canada/Alaska were a long way to go from New Zealand but
I'm glad we did it.
We are back home in the UK until March then it's back to NZ and off to
Fiji. Calm Seas. Beth :-D
