The verdant garden of MIRAFLORES, where our hotel is, is an upmarket residential area.  We spent the day walking and exploring it. On the advice of our guide book Chris registered his passport at the British Embassy in case we loose or have it stolen. We shall visit the French Embassy tomorrow. We visited the Huaca Pucllana,  vast pre-Inca adobe Pyramids and Temples. Lima would appear to encapsulate the mix of traditional and modern-day cultures. We are assured that the Peruvian cuisine is the best in South America and we have to admit what we have sampled so far has been excellent at very affordable prices. It certainly makes a change from Brazilian and Caribbean rice and bean splodge!
