We enjoyed most of Peru, and its people. Peruvians do not smile a great deal, I suppose generally there is not a great deal to smile about, but they are proud and fiercely traditional especially in  remote places. They are always friendly and helpful if spoken to.

Their life can be very harsh notably in the coastline desert. We found the poverty real, raw and upsetting at times.

7 weeks was perhaps too long. We could have done all we did in 4 weeks, but we have had an overall view and feel of the country and we shall have wonderful memories.
