The
last few days we had been watching the building of what is Lima answer to the
Chelsea flower show. We had hoped to see it before our departure but we were 2
days too early.
The
front is decorated with Statis flowers. It took 3 days to decorate.
Don’t mess
with me sort of look. They do say owners look like their pet!
Security is a huge business in Peru. There are security
guards and police everywhere.
We
stayed an extra 2 days in Lima for Mr.Fix it Travel Peru to sort out our program
and he was still trying to print tickets when the taxi collected us to take us
to the Bus station. “I will email you the last tickets and details” were his
parting words. Not good for the blood pressure!
The
bus was incredibly comfortable, well organised. Lunch was served by a pretty
hostess and we could not believe we were already there 4 hrs later, having
travelled through some pretty dismal villages and barren landscape.

We don’t
know if this is the result of the earthquake or it just we way it is. What ever
it is dire
This house was in the middle of a slum. So incongruous!
Such a
barren land. Only desert
We
were met at the bus station by the daughter of our hotelier. He, in turn, drove us to the
hotel.
Not quite vintage but great fun!……………
