Well I and my crew are about 2000 miles from Grand Canaria and have about
760 miles to go – we will all need a good clean and a 3000 mile service. The
crew have been kept on their toes with torrential rain, windy squalls and rough
seas right up my stern. These feats of nature have provided challenges for the
humans, in the form of lasagne leaping from the oven and the tin, endless
changes of sail configurations and a fun time tossing pancakes! I
have reached a surfing record of 9.2 knots, but they always cut my sails down to
spoil the fun. We are going a bit south now to keep in the trade winds and
expect to be at sea for another 6 or 7 days before a rest in the
sun.
