usual we fell in with luck and bad company!
There is a special race annually at St Barths of truly tall yachts every
year
called the Bucket. The yachts are 100 to 180 feet long, and we were invited
on board a number for cocktails 3 nights ago and yesterday we were invited
to sail on Ranger a copy of a J class race yacht that won the Americas' cup
in 1937.She is 136.4Ft in length and we had an around the island race that
was truly spectacular we came second by 5 seconds, bearing in mind the yacht
that won had a 15 minute start on us in the handicap, and Ranger won a
special event trophy; as the yacht that won was given extra time for it's
handicap for making a large charity donation.( Its one of those fun events
where things a taken seriously with good humour).
We will be posting some pictures of us on Ranger, soon on our web site.
