Back on the river, Rio Dulce, Guatemala

A quick note to say we are back on Out of India after 5 months absence. To our great relief she was in immaculate form being well taken care of by Amilcar at Ram Marine. No traces of dampness, despite heavy downpours over the last few months thanks to Amilcar who has been emptying the dehumidifier every 2 days.

After a few days of intense boat maintenance and crossing of various check lists, we are happy to say that Out of India is in ship shape! The only thing we forgot, was that prior to leaving her on the dry dock, Ray poured a generous amount of chemicals into the water tank to avoid bacteria build up. Back last week we filled up the water tanks, but forgot to flush out the chemicals, so I guess Ray and I got a pretty good immune boost or shall we say internal cleansing?

We are awaiting the last job to be done, mounting our new Radar back on the mast. Hopefully that will be done today so we can cross the bar tonight. If not, we will have to hang around until the next high tide on November 19th.
