Well here we are in Balamory (Tobormory for those without grandchildren!) on the Island of Mull.

Actually, we rather got the impression from the Harbour Mistress that the behaviour of some Balamory tourists had worn the joke a bit thin! This area seems to have a lot of ladies in charge. The locks at Banavie were under the control of a lady, and she had us mustered to start the decent of the flight of 8 locks of Neptune's Staircase at 0800 this morning. These were followed by 3 further locks at Corpach, also under the command of a lady. We eventually  emerged back into salt water by 1130, and decided to make our way straight here, bypassing some superb looking anchorages on the way. It was glassy calm all the way, and so hot one could not walk on the decks in bare feet. It appears that these Islands have been very dry this year, such that the waterfall that normally cascades into the harbour a little further along the shoreline from our mooring has run dry. I shall have to be careful if I see any Albatross!!
