This evening we are anchored in the peaceful isolation of Stangate Creek. The Holy of Holies. No moorings or marina or harbour master, just two yachts anchored a further 1/4 mile up the creek.

Our sojourn in Chatham Marina lasted for 9 days in the end. And a very pleasant interlude it was too! We enjoyed several family visits, visited the Dockyard Museum 4 times (seeing some new on each occasion), and explored our immediate surroundings. All from a well sheltered, nicely run and very friendly marina.

Tomorrow we plan to move on to Pin Mill on the Orwell, so long as the fresh 'bang-on-the-nose' north-easter is not too boisterous. So this is likely to be our last night in the Medway estuary this year. But I expect that we will be back.
