day 8?

well i think its day 8, im starting to loose track
already. things continue to go well, we have a following wind and the waves are
taking us in the right direction. by all accounts we are now 8th in the race
which isnt bad seeing as we started 2 days late due to niall's arm nearly
needing amputating!
the main problem at the moment is still the
chaffing and despite trying out different creams, rowing naked etc we are still
suffering. lets hope it doesnt get any worse otherwise il never be allowed to
get undressed in fornt of my girlfriend again! other than that we have settled
into life at sea and our bodies are responding well, we are rowing hard and not
suffering too badly.
the past 8 days have flown by so im hoping that the
rest of the journey will follow suit. not to say that im not enjoying it, but it
will be nice to have finished and tell everyone about our adventure. in fact im
starting to enjoy it more and more each day, instead of missing people i look
forward to seeing them when i get back, and i appreciate that this really is a
once in a lifetime opportunity.
some people, mainly work colleagues were worried
that the 2 of us alone for some time at sea we might alter our sexual
persuasion. i am extremely dissapointed to tell you that there is no way that
this will ever happen, so martin mcnerney if you want me to put a word in for
you just drop me an email. for one i have a girlfriend waiting for me at home
who i love very much, and two if you could see niall at the moment you would
understand. his beard resembles that of a homeless mexican and the sight of him
lubing up several times daily is enough to put me off the human race
alltogether. i certainly wont miss that sight when we are finished although will
probably have nightmares about it!
nialls mp3 is unfortunately working so he has been
playing david bowie and crap like that for the last day or so, that said its
nice to have any sort of music playing. at the moment during the nightshifts i
am listen to harry potter audio books which are unfortunately pretty boring,
will be moving on to stephen king and dan brown in the next day or so.
thanks again to everyone sending through emails,
coops that christmas song about chaz was absolutely superb!! our day now
consists of rowing, eating, sleeping and reading/writing emails because we have
so many coming through. as a reminder though no pictures as they take to long to
download.
we continue to be on original bristol radio every
morning with jed and kate pitman so listem=n is at 7.50am its
106.5fm.
thats me done for no, more in a day or so and il
think of something a bit more interesting to write about. there is a ship on the
horizon at the moment so lets hope it doesnt mow us down.
love to all my family and friends, hi to everyone
at work. enjoy the waether, its about 30 degrees here.
