At last we have found some steady wind and started to make progress in the early hours.  Of course it wasn’t all plain sailing and at first light we got a squall with a heavy downpour and a need to reef sail.
Thankfully it was short lived and the wind continued reasonably all day meaning a landfall in Rodney Bay tomorrow (Friday)......hopefully.  We are all very excited at the prospect of seeing land for the first time in nearly 18 days.

We’ve had a few firsts today.  Phil ate some fish for lunch and then cast a line out from the back of the boat to fish for more.  He’s not had any takers yet apart from a bird which showed an interest in the lure.

This afternoon we had our last day party and Jennie gave a catalogue of the crews achievements during the trip.  Suitable awards were made and the cockpit was adorned with balloons for the occasion.  It was a lovely thought, well put together and greatly appreciated.

We are again close by the French yacht from whom we sought to barter fruit for carrots a few days ago.  Having been advised of the correct translation, we are in hot pursuit to demonstrate our new found linguistic skills.

The sun is shining, we are sailing well and life is very good.
