Miracles do happen!  We have finally completed the RYA Yachtmaster theory course, with the final student getting through the last exam, the other two finishing yesterday.  It has been difficult as they don't speak English, so they have had to learn the course, as well as a foreign language, enough to translate the exam papers, and answer them in English, albeit very broken English.  Fair play, i don't think i could have done it.

We are sitting in the middle of a high pressure system at the moment, delightful for land lubbers, but useless for sailors, as we are having to motor.  Fortunately, Pelagic has enough fuel to get us all the way to Cape Town if need be, but i hope it doesn't come to that.  We will arrive at Tristan Da Cunha hopefully in the afternoon of the 12th, and if the weather remains as it is, we may be able to get ashore quickly.  There is strong wind predicted now for the 13th, so we will not stop if it arrives early.  As it stands at the moment we have about 500 miles to go until Tristan Da Cunha, and then a further 1500 miles to Cape Town.

We have just passed by a pod of pilot whales, and there may have been about 10 of them.  These are the first whales that we have seen so far this trip, which i am surprised about bearing in mind how many miles that we have done.

Not the most impressive whale picture that you have ever seen, but it was the best that i could do, sorry
