We have finally arrived in Port Stanley after a 50 hour sprint from Cape Horn. The sea has been quite rough during the passage as the wind has changed direction from South westerley, to westerley, back to Southerley. This has caused the sea to become confused, and going downwind has been a corkscrew motion making it rather unpleasant. On arrival in Stanley at 1730 hrs today, we were greeted with a hail squall, which bit into the face as i was trying to identify the transit marks to enter Stanley safely.
I have just got back from the seamans mission, where i have had a great hot shower, a coffee, a piece of cake, a plate of lasagne and chips, and a bit of a relax. Perfect!
Off to visit Stanley now, so i will send photos tomorrow.
