A Side Trip to England – by plane

 

In September we squeezed in a few days in England to visit the Southampton Boat Show.  Murphy stayed at a kennels in the

mountains where she studied Spanish.  These are some of the sights we saw.

 

Portland Bill will be the venue of the 2012 Olympic sailing events.

Brighton - south coast of England, Brighton Marina on a sunny day.  We had the best possible weather for our trip.

Greenwich – prime meridian line at the Greenwich Observatory – Zero Degrees Longitude.  Florida is at 82 degrees longitude.

Sights of London, the tall building in the middle is an office block nicknamed The Gherkin, because it looks like a pickle.  In the second

picture, the boat on the left is a water bus that travels up and down the Thames.  It was a great way to see the city for us water dwellers.
