Day 19 - Last Sunset on Pi

We have just watched our last sunset on Pi - one more sleep until St Lucia - well, it is actually 2 more sleeps in our watch system! We have kept the boat on UK time so we will arrive mid-afternoon tomorrow (Friday) your time at home, around 9am in St Lucia - just in time for the bar to open! It was pointed out that we could have made it to Barbados for last orders this evening but we'll do that another time.

We are steering a course of 270 degrees, due west into St Lucia with a distance of 105 nautical miles to go - looking forward to seeing that distance in double figures! Well, when I say that "we" are steering a course of 270 degrees, it probably balances out at that - we have some drivers aiming a little high, others a little low and one, unknown as yet, steering 180 degrees due south, we don't want to go to South America just yet so will be keeping a close eye on all drivers during the night.

Today has been another relaxing day with lots of sunshine and tonight is a lovely clear night with a new moon to light the way, the worst of the storms are well behind us and the finish is in sight. We are all looking forward to arriving and all that comes with it, but will also miss Pi. She has been our home for the past 4 weeks and with Fin, has carried us safely and happily across the Atlantic. The journey has been a fantastic experience for all of us and and great fun too!

We will leave you for now. There will be more updates tomorrow following our arrival and welcome celebrations, although I will need to assign the blog to someone with a better memory to update you on the festivities!

Love to all at home from the entire crew, speak to you tomorrow!! x
