Moved into the lagoon yesterday, partly to get within dinghy range of the French bit, and partly because we'd paid for it. Had a couple of goes at anchoring, initially skidding along with a bunch of weed on the hook, so then moved further in with more success. Then advised by the next boat that we're swinging on the border between Holland and France and that they'd had the Dutch customs on board at 5.30 am. We should be OK as we entered the Dutch side, and their charges are far higher than the French, hence their twitchiness.
Had an inital foray to French Marigot- very run down and disappointing at first look with a grubby beachless seafront, though the food in the supermarket looks excellent.
Monday's a workday - loads of boat jobs, and yet another visit to chandlers for stuff. It looks like we've found some LED lights that will fit the halogen fittings but use a fifth of the power. Set off pm for the Marigot supermarket, but on the way the engine died again, so a longish row back though fortunately with the wind - sounds like the same fuel problem, so Tuesday's first job looks well set up

NB we haven't actually sailed to Venezuela and back - just a typo in the postion. Interesting to think that the same GPS technology was invented to drive cruise missiles.
