Bailed out of Norman Island on Sunday morning and motorsailed up to Cooper Island. The wind was dead on the nose and gusting up to 30 kots, so it was a lumpy passage. Norman was a good stop - plenty to do, very sheltered and loads of piratical connections as it was the basis for the Treasure Island book and had been visited by RLS on his expeditions.
Cooper Island is sheltered from the swell, but not from the blast round the corner of the point. It caught one boat unawares, getting into all sorts of trouble as they caught their dinghy painter across another boat's bows, drove alongside and then picked up the by now shared mooring with their prop - Lots of fun and excitement. Had a great meal ashore courtesy of G & V, and then spent a very noisy lumpy night in 35 knot gusts and an uneasy chop - all good character building stuff.
Highlight of the Sunday was Skyping Millie on her BIRTHDAY - great fun with the live video, 'Happy Birthdays' and associated excitement, though the sound was a bit one way.
