Back on the night shift. Last night I did not have to start untill 0700 - bliss. Saw dawn break over a cup of tea and it turned into a lovely sunny day with no squalls. Wind is still good from the east and strong enough to keep the sails filled. Still rolly and a lumpy swelly sea bit going down slowly so it is now easier to do things on the boat. Even managed a deck shower!.
After breakfast I readjusted to gas bottle position so it is more secure. Then Tim and I had another go at sorting out the pole. Stil do not seem to have got all the ropes in the correct places,

The batteries got very low last night and the alarms were going off, so dug out the petrol generator and tried rto chatge them up. Cant get them above 66%. not enougth power to start the engine without the generator. After thinking about the problem I believe one of the batteries must have stopped holding charge so will try to identify which one tomorrow. Trouble is it is under a bunk that is covered in some of the food supplies!
Also ran the watermaker while the generator was on. Still have a small leak but got 6 l water- must be the most expensive water anywhere..
