Escapada is back at sea crewed by Andreas and his mom Ingrid starting the initial leg of the 800+ mile journey to Las Palmas. The weather is great with F5 NE wind and they are enjoying super sailing. After a short stop at Marina San Pedro del Pintar for some engine/battery service, Escapada will continue south towards Mar Menor and Cartegena.

There will be a crew change later in the week when Manuel and Yevgeny will replace Ingrid, go through the Straits of Gibraltar and begin the Atlantic leg of the journey to Las Palmas.  This will be the first time ever that Escapada will experience the true ocean conditions of the Atlantic! She is excited!!

The rest of the Escapada Team continues it's intensive preparations for the ARC. Nick in the U.K. continues his physical training and preparation of equipment. Peter in Kiev is still waiting for his son to be born and intensively preparing physically. 40 days left before our departure. Spirits are high, everyone is determined. The extensive checklist is being executed on time and in sequence. Everything is on track.
