Log S/Y ESCAPADA, today 25 OCT 2009, 10h00UTC. , approx. 80nm W of Casablanca. Wind NE F3-4. Sea state: slight to moderate. Good weather!

After the second night at sea, we are now sailing down the west-African coast, heading SSW towards Lanzarote (340nm). The mood on board is good! Everybody has settled into the watch-keeping system (4h on / 8h off) and the other routines of off-shore cruising by now. Average speed during the last 24h was just 5kn (ETMAL 120), and we hope to improve that significantly!

When we arrive in the Canaries - ETA is 27 OCT at 20hUTC! – our first landfall will probably be Isla Graciosa, a tiny island NE of Lanzarote. For many this remains one of the most appealing spots in the Canaries and, as somebody once put it, “When you land here, you can take off your shoes and forget about the world!”

Next update tomorrow!
