21.OCT2009,  ESCAPADA is still in Puerto Banus . The crew for the first leg to Lanzarote is now complete;
Manuel arrived yesterday and Evgeny came in today.

We managed to activate email/internet via Iridium (Mail-a-Sail) and
thanks to another software brought by Manuel, we now also have direct
access to weather maps via GRIB files. The tailor made SMS-service for
our passage provided by Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) is also working.
Cool stuff!

Provisioning and preparations for the first passage are underway, and
we expect to depart tomorrow morning, despite nasty weather with rain,
heavy winds (F6-7) and high seas in the Straits. Will keep monitoring
the weather forecast and adjust plans accordingly tomorrow morning.
