Stayed five nights at Saint Laurent du Var and saw Elizabeth off at the nearby airport on Monday.  Richard, sailing friend, arrived mid-day on Tuesday and we decided to move on.  After a gentle sail across the Bay of Nice, we decided to seek overnight refuge in Bay des Anges but they announced they we full!  So we checked that Saint Laurent would accept us back again and returned for a further night.  The capitainerie advised us that there was a big race/regatta at Cannes and all the local marinas would be full; however, Saint Rafael should have places available.

On Wednesday morning we telephoned to book a place and then set off for Saint Rafael (about 20 miles). We sailed for about 3 hours and then decided that we were not making enough progress and so did the rest of the trip with the help of the motor.

On Thursday we decide to have a ‘day trip’ down to Sainte Maxime.  While there we booked a berth for the nights of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Wind had increased since mid-day so we had a great sail back to Saint Rafael and went out for a very nice Thai meal.  Richard was collected by his brother this morning and Elizabeth should get back from Kuala Lumpar later this afternoon.
