Arrived at Porto Antica (Old Port) in Genoa on Monday afternoon.  The yacht marina is buried deep in the middle of the large port – some of which is still active.    The previous night we had stopped at a small marina at Arenzano and we surrounded by small sailing yachts and motor boats – not a flashy gin palace in sight!

This morning we tried to leave to continue our eastward journey but we were turned back by a coastguard launch since they had temporarily closed the entrance to the port.  We think there was problem with a yacht having lost its engine near the entrance and they were trying to rescue it.  We hung about for an hour and then decided to return to port and have an easy day.
