Having arrived at Livorno on Sunday (17th), we found a berth on the Yacht Club  Livorno pontoon.  The weather forecast for the next few days indicated high winds and lumpy seas with no clear indication of when the weather would be improving sufficiently for us to continue our planned journey to Genoa (where we planned to leave the boat and come home for the month of August).

With the help of the capitanerie of YCL we located another pontoon in the harbour which was able to offer Eliza B a berth for the next 4 weeks.  So we decided to revise our plans and bring forward the trip home.  We moved the boat on Monday and the wind was already blowing strongly and it was challenging to reverse the boat into the new slot without getting blown side-on to the neighbouring boats.  Once that was achieved, Navigating Officer then consulted the internet and booked easyJet flights from Pisa to Gatwick for Tuesday afternoon.  We arrived home on Tuesday evening.

During the next four weeks we hope to be able to catch up with as many family and friends as possible before returning to the boat on (about) Tuesday 16th August.  Our next target will be to reach Nice so that Elizabeth can fly off to Kuala Lumpar for a conference in mid-September.
