Today saw without doubt the best day we have had
since we left Geraldton ( apart from the day we left "Gero")
Weather has finally turned for the good and we are
off the continental self which means the seas are alot kinder.
Morale on board is good as we now have a new member
of crew who just spends all day steering we have called him "Mike" he is a
stainless steel wind vane steering system called a monitor. It is just brilliant
we have been sailing all day in 12-18 kts of breeze never dropped below 6.5 kts
of boat speed and have not touched the wheel. (see photo to get a look at
him ____ easy ladies he is hot..)
Fishing is our new mission proving very unrewarding
at the moment but that will change. We are now well and truly out of fresh food
with this morning seeing off the last of some slightly dubious looking bacon. It
is freeze dried now for the next 80 days. Need to be careful to keep hydrated as
it is like sticking a cork up your arse eating this stuff.
The rowing fleet are also showing some promising
mileage so we might not be out here for the rest of our lives after
all.
