Current position "28:07.68N 15:25.62W" – and this time tomorrow will finally have changed! We’re inside 24 hrs to go, and very welcome to finally be approaching the start line. We think we’re as ready as we can be (except we’re still waiting – at 4pm local time – for our fresh food deliveries to arrive i.e. fresh fruit & veg and fresh meats; we’re pretty much stuffed if they don’t arrive, but let’s not go there...). Yesterday we went to the local yacht club with Maggie and the kids and had a swim and lunch. You can see Byron running through his fitness training with Becca! You can also see the crew along with little friends, Josh & Becca at the top of the local climbing frame at the beach, and the Chris making sure that Josh is playing Mum’s iPhone absolutely correctly! More seriously, James and I attended the skipper’s briefing this morning, getting instructions on the start procedure, radio procedure during the event, the Low system to the west side of the Atlantic which may develop only into a sub-tropical storm system, and so on. Overall the first part of the crossing looks to have ideal conditions (15-20 knots NE or ENE winds). Will be sad to wave off the family, but we’re all waiting to get going!
