We left Becquia for our longest trip back to St Lucia, an 8 hour sail. Not a major feat except the first half of the trip we had wind in our face and massive Atlantic Ocean waves & chop to deal with. Everyone fared fine and as soon as we beared away past St Vincent, we were sailing at our top speeds of 9.5 knots. Graham was having a blast as the boat performed well and the kids were excited by the pace and the sailing was quite perfect.

We headed for the Pitons, a fabulous sight from the Southwest. The pictures can't do it justice. As the sunset we pulled into Mangretot and anchored right by the beach. Some locals also tied a line from our stern to a palm tree on the beach. We had to reset the anchor a few times before we were satisfied, there is something about hearing waves crashing on the beach 2 metres (6 feet) by your boat that is a bit disconcerting. However, all was fine, we got expert local help to reset the anchor and ensured a good nights sleep for all of us - after a lovely meal at Harmony Beach Restaurant at the base of the Pitons.
