O’nite wind shift to ESE had us heading to Antigua. Dawn brought showers and distant squalls with v light wind swinging around. Engine on and pointing towards in right direction towards N end St Lucia. Trouble with the ARC is you feel you have to get to destination with as little engine as possible as soon as possible which which not what cruising is about. From here going to Antigua would be a much better destination. Duogen has had a hard time as masses of surface weed for most of the trip has been fouling the prop which needs constant lifting and clearing which gets tedious every hour or so. As all the fresh food gone we are on tins for evening meal but as appetites not huge this is not a problem. The ‘are we there yet’ syndrome has set in. Not quite sure why but no one has done any fishing which was plan B to supply fresh food. I am not too fussed as the hassle factor plus the mess all over the back of the boat is a pain. Dave continues providing oceans of tea and taking the sea samples for the environmental research project thingy, Jeremy remains imperturbable as ever and Jack has not lost his mustard whilst the Skipper continues to add to his ‘St Lucia ‘to do’ list.
