Back in Antigua after a few days in the Saintes via Deshaies in Guadeloupe. We got there about 5 pm but it was closed - all of it. The Saintes, as ever, were delightful and this time got up to fort Napoleon before it shut!!

Very windy on the moorings which rated for 50ft whatever that means. Would prefer a tonnage rating. Ate again at Tai'Z which was very good. Two cruise ships in town for a night so with them and the trippers from Guadeloupe over f or the day it was standing room only in the streets. Return trip across to Guadeloupe was robust til we got in the lee then mixed. Another night in Deshaies but did not go ashore. Whisper was at anchor just ahead of us and we had a very jolly evening with Noel and Sandie and the four of us, Mary producing an excellent meal for six on no notice.

Left Deshaies for Jolly Harbour in spite of weather and close reached across in force 6 to 7 at over 7, rather wet, knots. Still blowing dogs off chains as we entered JH and had jolly fun getting onto the customs dock. Today dawned calm and clear but weather going downhill as I type!! I am becoming increasingly cynical about the accuracy of gribs.

Looks like onward passage to BVIs on hold and we'll be here for a while as no crew but there could be worse places!!!
