An overcast day. Wind force and direction still OK but light winds ahead.

An egret type bird landed yday. There were two but one disappeared. He or she stayed all night and got v perky this morning hopping around and well, you can guess. All white with a green gimlet eye and long yellow pointed beak. Maybe got blown offshore from Africa – clearly a land bird. However Allden had the fishing line out and to our collective amazement he caught a fish. A nice yellowfin of about 3lbs. Allden est about 8lbs – yes – well. So sashimi later if we can find the wasabi.

Sadly, in the hiatus of getting a free fish we scared off the wee birdy who has not come back. We wish him well.

I forget – the momentous news is that we are half way to St Lucia with 1320 rhumb line miles to go – tarrraaa!!!

Having got this this far this quickly has exceeded expectations but the gribs show the wind will not hold as to strength and direction.Wind going southerly  2 –3 in next couple of days. Staying on rhumb line and if sea abates hope we can get the assy up.
