Still in Lanzarote. New steering pedestal was installed but still not right and a new, new one is expected next week!!! The new Lopolight has been fitted and fingers crossed it will perform as it says on the tin – box actually. Removed halyards and washed them to get rid of persistent red sand from Africa. Hose down regularly but the sand gets everywhere.
 
Been very windy up to 50k and even the marina has been battered. Had to move berths to get a bit of relief. Now the wind is firmly from the N which means going to Madeira is a beat. It needs to come round to NE to make it a reach. Apparently wind strength/direction unusual for June – but then it always is.
