| On the 21st December the boat is coming out of the water. The idea is to fix the bad workmanship that was done in Dubai. New antifouling, fix and paint both hulls and fix the emergency escape hatches. All this will be done for the same cost as what we paid in Dubai for only the antifouling. A lot of other things needs to be fixed as well. I have fixed the starboard engine morse control. We are also replacing the turn buckles on the side stay. Finding the right gas bottles was not easy and had to eventually order them from the US. The beer and food is really cheap. We pay just over $1 for a beer in the restaurant. Hamburger with fries is about $3 and Sirloin steak only $6. A case of beer is only $12 for 24 cans. On the island we have free access to the resort facilities. All in all it is good living at a cheap price. We rented a car (piece of junk) for only $12 per day. At least the AC was working! No license required. Driving is on the left side of the road so it takes getting use to again. I am flying out today to collect Natasha and will be back on the 19th. Cheers for now. Johann SY Bobbejaan |
