We started our journey from St Lucia to Antigua yesterday and had a lovely calm Anchorage in Martinique last night.
Today was a long sail up to the top of Dominica. We expected strong conditions and they certainly were with umpteen squalls and max wind gust of 47 knots!! And boy has it rained, Captain has had to completely change twice as he got so wet! At the end of the worst part we were however greeted by a young whale only some 20 metres away from us!
Below is a photo of entering Prince Rupert Bay here at the top of Dominica showing yet another lot of rain building up! Hence it is so green and there are numerous rainbows. Weather predicted to be stronger again tomorrow so we are staying here (mooring Bouy people will watch over the yacht) and we shall take a trip into the main town. These people have so little I don't mind that they will overcharge us! This is the country that history says when Columbus tried to describe it to his King he just crumpled up a piece of paper, there are 7 volcanoes and everywhere is covered in jungle apart from the shoreline.
