We are finally over halfway to the Marquesas! Mind you we have to keep going further South cos of fickle winds and squalls so the halfway point keeps moving! We now have some of the fleet on the horizon coming up behind us and it is a comfort to have them in range of friendly banter VHF. Two of them this morning had some problems with suspicious fishing boats all the way out here purporting to be research ships but with obviously made up MMSI numbers (sort of boat phone number) but we all feel they were whaling boats trying to be invisible.
Pictures (I may have to send these separately) show the chaps hanging out the washing, quite a perilous task and "Chef Henri" along with shot of our navigation screen when we reached our nominal halfway point, it looks like we deviated to miss it but that was actually a course change to accomodate latest weather advice where the concern is at the end of this coming week wind could almost die away!
