A Quiet Sunday in Plymouth still.

This is just for those of you who like to look at the blog each day. You know that saying which goes, “No news is good news”?  Well,  I can’t let you have no news.  Sam the Spanner Man came and looked at the motor; he clearly knows about such things and went away to see what he could find: a replacement section of the gearbox; spare part; whatever.  He’ll be back tomorrow.  In the meantime, we now realise that our enforced stay here may turn out not to be as temporary as we’d hoped.  Could be at least a week, but we will know --- correction, may know --- more tomorrow.

A quiet day after a horrendous gale yesterday.  Davy and Mike have been reading; I have been typing address lists into my new computer and cursing Windows Vista with every key-stroke; Bill has been doing wonderful things with his little radio, Mike’s laptop, and his considerable knowledge on how to bring up weather faxes and weather information in general.  He’s a big asset to the team.

Enough.  Pub dinner this evening, after what I might well describe as two subdued and uninteresting meals today – i.e. for breakfast the remains of yesterday’s twice-cooked meal, and for lunch a humble sausage sandwich. Sunday roast?  No!
