You can tell you've been at anchor too long when.....

The rigging work being 80% completed (the gennaker furler needs some TLC, but all stays that needed replacing have been replaced), I re-attached the jib to the furler first thing this morning, and decided to go for a sail\drift to check things out and have a change of scenery for the weekend. I decided to head east, further into Waikare Inlet and Marriott Island looked nice (The Hilton looked too crowded )
Anyway, drifted down the inlet, rounded up and dropped the hook. Lots and lots of mud;
grab bucket and threw overboard to obtain water to sluice the mud off
bit of limp string in the hand
Grab boathook
retrieve bucket and sluice off deck!
Anyway, nothing has broken/fallen off yet. I even went for a quick swim. The water isn't dirty but it's not clear, not too much current and bearable if you keep swimming
Des res? Nice views though!
OK, not quite a panoramic shot, but you get the idea of the view from the 'living room window'
Ah, tradition
Probably stay here for the weekend. It's very peaceful, no traffic noise and my nearest neighbour is a rusty fishing 'hulk' a few hundred metres away. Makes a change from the hustle and bustle of the Opua anchorage.
